Navigating Life's Challenges

Maps Art Auction

In the Spirit of Mental Health Awareness Month

As the COVID pandemic increased local mental health needs, it has inspired local artists to share their paintings to help those needs in its first-ever Maps Art Auction.  The Earth Song arts collective is donating their art for the Maps Art Auction. They are a group of, currently, 11 artists painting in various mediums, including oils, pastels, watercolor, and acrylic.  They formed in 2015 under the leadership of Barbara Danser and have had exhibits at the Hancock Library and the Jaffrey Civic Center.  Some of them have been painting for many years as professionals, while some started just a few years ago.  They all share a joy of creativity and a love of nature.  Another local artist, Maureen Ahern has donated a piece to the auction as well.

Artist:  Barbara Danser

Barbara Danser is a local, multiple media artist, who enjoys painting, sculpture and writing plays. During the past year, Barbara has enjoyed painting garden scenes and floral bouquets, expressing these works from within her own internal vision. The vibrant colors and interaction of textures in flowers has been an uplifting expression of positive energy during the cooler, dark months of winter and the many months of Covid 19.
