Navigating Life's Challenges

Cancer Support Services

A compassionate support program for patients and families living with cancer

Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is one of our deepest fears. When this happens, the consequences often impact greatly on an individual and on families. Responsibilities shift, values and beliefs are questioned and endless decisions call for immediate action without a clear understanding of our options or our goals. Regardless of the prognosis, this event permanently changes our lives and leaves us vulnerable to depression and other problems that undermine our hope and complicate our medical care.

Thanks to the generous support of Cheshire Medical Center, Maps offers a free support group to individuals with cancer and to family members caring for someone with cancer. This group meet weekly for support, education, spiritual reflection and healing. In addition, Maps offers individual or family counseling for those who are need additional care.
