Course Description:
This course will provide an introductory overview on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and its use for treating insomnia, as well as touching upon sleep disorders that may overlap.
Course Objectives:
After completing the program, participants will be able to describe CBT-I approaches in general and the evidence for its use, as well as understand contraindications and potential approaches for other sleep disorders that may arise in conjunction with insomnia.
Biography:
Sarah Gray, Psy.D. is a Clinical Psychologist, with specialties in Health Psychology, Pain Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, and Behavioral Sleep Medicine. She currently hlods positions as an Instructor for Harvard Medical School, Co-Director of the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program with the BMED Department at Massachusetts General Hospital, and as Director and Founder of her private group practice, Integrative Psychology in Arlington, MA. She has been trained in CBT-I by Gregg Jacobs, Donn Posner, and Michael Perlis, among others, and is an active member of the Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
